Aspenrare Current Bloodlines

Above are pictures of Coal and Matrix, I will be breeding Coal daughters to Matrix and Matrix daughters to Coal, in order to produce athletic functional bulldogs, with a balance of muscle and ability. What I like to call “Light Heavyweights“ strong enough for knock out power yet light enough to retain ability, agility, and stamina. Snowbird was 70 lbs, perhaps the best hog catching bulldog, yet there was no way she would ever stop a man. Country Boy at 110 was a violent man stopper, but would never be able to stop a hog without costing him serious injury or even death. Our goal is to balance the two, not too big, not too small, and of course look like a bulldog.
Hines American Bulldogs
Bill Hines in my opinion brought the American Bulldog to main stream American. Although there are a dozen or so folks that state they have “Hines” bulldogs, usually they due their best to recycle Bossman, County Boy and Snowbird offspring. Billy had over 75 bulldogs on his yard, he had Painter dogs from Screaming Eagle, Johnson dogs from Tomahawk, many hybrid crosses from Stover, unregistered AB’s from Florida and Alabama. He wasn’t picky about lineage, although he didn’t want anyone to know where he got his bulldogs, his main concern was always temperament, drive and ability. He loved the hog catching athletic females crossed with his thicker, bigger males.
Scotter and Magboy, pictured below are excellent representatives of the Hines bloodline. My friends Juan Aguilera and Sam/Michael Prater are doing fantastic breedings with these old lines.

Benefits of Hybrid Breeding
Two examples of a large male, Bishop (Bossman x Kombat) crosses with and athlete female in Raponi's Reo (Azlan Blood) which produced a muscled up and very thick athlete with a temperament that could put nearly any AB to shame. Both Bulldogs below Pumba and Badger were bred by Gale Raponi of TNU kennels. Like Raging Bull, hybrid type breeding can produce some remarkable bulldogs.

Apenrare's Tight Breeding Program - Consistencies in phenotype
My breeding plan is to duplicate Billy’s as well as Rayburn Stover’s breeding style of crossing muscle and agility with the number one determining factor being temperament. One of the biggest differences is I like to bred much much tighter than Billy ever did. I believe in filtering through the bloodlines to discover and eliminate genetic defects. Kombat is my focus, looking to consistently produce her characteristics and type through continuous line-bred, and eventual inbreeding once I find the bulldogs worthy of it. I plan on having 20x Kombat litters within the next 2-3 years and continuously looking for quality hybrid outcrosses to compliment my efforts. All bulldogs pictured on this page will be or are part of our current breeding program. Pictured Below:
